Staff are needed to ring up purchases, put up new shelves, and stock goods. They are also useful in other ways, as they can help customers, clean the store, and make items.

List

A comprehensive list of potential staff members, with initial abilities. Every new game resets the staff's Loyalty (L) and Salary (Sal). However, any improvements made before 16Y4M in Taste (Ta), Charisma (Ch), Stocking (St), and Speed (Sp) --as well as Skills learned and leveled before that time-- will carry over to new games.

You begin the game with one staff member, Hugo McQueen, and can immediately hire 5 more.The remaining staff must be unlocked in 1 of 2 ways: by having Staff with Headhunter Skill or by completing customer requests for makeovers. For the staff who are unlocked with the Headhunter skill, the level of the skill seems to be unimportant. Hugo McQueen with Lv 5 Headhunter will only unlock Lars Alexeev, just like Hugo McQueen with Lv 1 Headhunter.

Stats listed here are the stats as they appear in the hiring screen the very first time you encounter an employee. Upon hiring the employee, the stats may change depending upon your existing staff members and their skills (namely the Team Leader Skill, which raises Ta/Ch/St/Sp).

Stats

Your staff has 6 main stats which can be viewed at any time from the Employee Info page (Menu > Staff > Roster > [Character Name]). Not included are Lv, which is the sum of all Skill levels (maxes at 100), and Skill, which is the number of skills a character possesses (maxes at 20).

1. If your only employees are Hugo McQueen and Vivienne Farhi and they each have the Team Leader Skill at any Lv, then when you hire a new staff member they will get +6 to Taste, +6 to Charisma, + 6 to Stocking, and +6 to Loyalty. McQueen and Farhi also have this boost.

2. This is how much you would pay Sonia Wakeley if she asked for a pay raise at every skill up and you agreed.

Skills

Skills make running your store easier in a variety of ways, from supplementing existing abilities to unlocking new items and staff. Each Staff member knows a different set of Skills by default but everyone can learn the full set over time. New skills are acquired in one of two ways: (1) through the use of the item Inspiration Flash, or, occassionally, (2) when another skill is leveled.

Skills begin at level 1 and max at level 5; medals are spent to raise skills. The skills in this table are listed in the order in which the game presents them.
